Producer, EVP and Co-Founder, Maximum Entertainment
After a college career studying and working in politics and news, my first real job was the Director of Radio Operations for Al Gore’s presidential campaign. That job didn’t work out …as we know…so I moved to New York City and became an Assignment Editor and Coordinating Producer for ABC News. After 5 ½ years covering hurricanes, presidential elections, and missing people, I followed my passion one avenue and 20 blocks south to Broadway. In 2006 I formed Maximum Entertainment Productions, a producing, developing, and management company for new plays and musicals, where I won two Tony Awards (Dear Evan Hansen, Angels in America), produced more than 18 Broadway shows (On Your Feet!, Peter and The Starcatcher, Annie among others), and dozens more for the Off Broadway, Touring, and International marketplace (Oklahoma!, Cruel Intentions The Musical, The Hip Hop Nutcracker, Small Mouth Sounds etc).
How I Level Forward: I never say no to a request to “pick my brain” from a young woman looking to make it on Broadway. It’s a business with a 1 out of 5 success rate and no clear path or university program that teaches you how to make it as a Broadway producer. Many years ago someone believed in me and my dream, and I will try every day to do the same for somebody else.
