LaTosha Brown

LaTosha Brown is a force of nature—a visionary thought leader, institution builder, cultural activist, and dynamic artist whose impact reaches across Black voting rights, women’s empowerment, and transformative philanthropy. Serving as a bridge between the Civil Rights Movement, the Black Power Movement, and Black Lives Matter, she uses her platform to unite communities and drive meaningful change.

As Co-Founder of the Black Voters Matter Fund, Brown has transformed Black voter engagement, raising millions to support grassroots groups and granting over $50 million to Black-led organizations throughout the nation. Her initiatives are reshaping the political landscape by amplifying marginalized Black communities.

Brown also founded the Southern Black Girls & Women’s Consortium, a $100 million, 10-year initiative, investing in Black-led organizations to advance gender equity. She further amplifies empowerment through her Power, Innovation, and Leadership executive leadership program at Harvard Kennedy School, focusing on uplifting women leaders in the South.
Her efforts have earned her a place on the 2024 Forbes 50 Over 50 Impact list and accolades like Glamour Magazine's 2021 "Women of the Year" and the 2023 Women of Vision Award. She is a global cultural leader and an acclaimed artist, using her performances to uplift Black women's narratives.

Featured often on CNN, MSNBC, and PBS, Brown’s thought leadership also shines through her op-eds and appearances in docuseries. Serving on boards like the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School and CARE Action, she remains relentless in her fight for social justice.
