Melina Lizette

Producer

For me, it’s always been about story. Growing up, I was performing them, singing and dancing all over the DC area. This passion lead me to NYU where I received my BFA.  Unsatisfied when I realized I wasn’t able to tell my own stories, I turned myself into a producer. Since then, I’ve fostered multiple films from script to screen. I’ve sold two of my own films to HBO. I’m a Film Independent Project Involve fellow where I was awarded the Barbara Boyle Producing Award. I have a huge passion for film, specifically for discovering new diverse talent and supporting diverse voices. As a writer, I’ve had numerous articles published on the Huffington Post. I truly believe our stories are one of the greatest things we can give to the world.

How I Level Forward: I’ve been volunteering at an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico for the past 10 years. Our children are our future.
