Thank you for your interest in Level Forward’s impact distribution network, Level Forward Neighborhood (LFN). We love working with like-minded creators who believe that stories change the world.

LFN is a network of non-profit organizations and the people who support them, communities who know that stories change the world. Your film provides organizers and change-makers the opportunity to build community, access empathy, gather resources, and ignite action - all keys to social progress. Whether to start a conversation, grow a local community group, raise money for a cause, or galvanize a specific action, non-profit organizations and their members will now have a double impact solution to (1) re-direct their dollars and time to a more curated, more equitable, and more aligned storytelling network, and (2) have access to critical narrative power.

In sum, your film is of greater value in this network as a lever of public good and regenerative economic sustainability, rather than exclusively serving shareholder primacy as a library title collecting dust in an endless scroll or carousel.

How much do Level Forward’s impact services cost?

The cost of impact services can depend on a range of factors including, but not limited to: type and scope of the project, if Level Forward is serving in an advisory/consulting capacity or as a producer, whether the project includes live event programming and requires travel and accommodations for participants, if contracting with third parties is involved, what digital or other materials need to be created, and other factors. The cost of services can be hourly/retainer-based or project-based.

Does Level Forward support a project’s impact work with financing?

In most cases, no. Unless Level Forward is already connected to the project as a creative producer, projects hiring Level Forward for impact work are expected to provide the initial impact budget to support,plan, design and set up. There are some exceptions where an existing distribution network can fit external projects, but these are rare. Part of Level Forward’s work may include designing a fundraising model for the project’s impact campaign, but that work is billed separately.

Is Level Forward an impact producer?

Yes. We serve as an impact producer and/or impact strategist/advisor on many projects.. Level Forward can also produce in-person and online programming related to the creative project, produce benefit screenings and readings, manage freelance impact producers, and create a full suite of digital services.

What types of impact services does Level Forward provide on creative projects?

We offer a range of impact services, including impact campaign consulting on narrative or documentary films and plays, bespoke distribution networks, goals mapping and strategy development, establishing and managing partnerships with community and 501(c)3 organizations, curating and engaging media personalities for impact campaigns, and structuring and implementing fundraising models.

Is Level Forward interested in specific impact themes?

We believe in the transformative power of storytelling to educate, inspire, shift perspective, and ignite action on a range of issues including and not limited to: preserving democracy, climate and sustainability, protecting immigrant communities, keeping transgender youth safe, building sisterhood, addressing youth mental health issues, and advocating for reproductive justice and bodily autonomy as just some examples. We are open to conversations about how creative projects can drive impact on other issues as well.
